FLORENCE, Ind. — One Indiana campground was ranked among the best places to camp in the entire Midwest.
Tucked along a bend in the Ohio River, Follow the River RV Resort was the sole Indiana campground to be honored with a Best Place to Camp Award by The Dyrt.
The Dyrt’s annual Best Places to Camp Awards are divided into six regions, with Follow the River RV Resort landing in 10th place in the Midwest region. The rankings are determined from reviews made by the thousands of campers who use the Dyrt camping app.
“One of the nicest campgrounds we’ve stayed at!” said camper Amanda E. about Follow the River RV Resort.
Located in Florence, Follow the River RV Resort boasts 160 spacious pull-through and back-in sites with full hookups, concrete pads, picnic tables and fire rings.
The RV resort offers families a range of fun amenities, including a saltwater swimming pool, playground, dog park, fishing pond, and a jumping pillow for children.
“We absolutely love this campground, very friendly staff and well kept and clean!” said camper Randy P.
Earning the top spot in the Midwest region’s Best Places to Camp was another campground set along the banks of the Ohio River, Sandy Springs Campground, located in Stout, Ohio.
Michigan and Minnesota were represented with two spots each in the top 10, while Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, and Wisconsin joined Indiana in boasting being home to one of the best campgrounds in the Midwest.
