Texas woman dead after vehicle crash in Bienville Parish

BIENVILLE PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — One woman is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Bienville Parish.

The incident happened on Sunday, June 15, at approximately 5:00 p.m. on Interstate 20 near Louisiana Highway 154. Police say 29-year-old Joshua Ware was driving a 2010 GMC Acadia when he collided with a parked 18-wheeler occupied by another driver.

Ware was properly restrained and sustained minor injuries, but the passenger, 32-year-old Lauren Carkeet of Lewisville, TX, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the parked 18-wheeler was not injured.

The crash is still under investigation.
