(KRON) — The Santa Rosa Police Department (SRPD) is asking for the public’s help in tracking down suspects “involved in a serious assault.” In a social media post on Monday, SRPD released images of two suspects connected to an assault that happened Jan. 29.
Suspect #1 was described as a Hispanic man between his late 30s and early 40s, according to SRPD. He stands about 5-foot-5 with a medium build with black short and buzzed hair and a mustache. The suspect was last seen wearing “a black hat, dark shirt, black puffy jacket, blue jeans, and brown shoes at the time of the assault.”
Suspect #2 is a Hispanic man who stands about 5-foot-10 and is described as “heavy set,” SRPD said. He has a buzzed haircut and facial stubble. This suspect was last wearing a black hat, a black hoodie with a logo on the back and light-colored jeans or pants.
According to SRPD, the “unprovoked assault” happened on Boyd Street where the victim sustained “significant facial injuries.” The attack happened around 12:30 a.m. when the victim was waiting for a ride on the 800 block of Boyd Street.
“The suspects verbally harassed him about being in the area, then, without provocation, began violently punching the victim in the face,” Santa Rosa police wrote. “At one point, the victim fell to the ground and was kicked in the head. The victim was later treated and released from a local hospital for multiple facial fractures.”
Anyone with information about the suspects’ whereabouts is asked to contact Officer Anthony Turner at 707-543-3600 (ext. 8527) or email aturner@srcity.org.
