ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Rockford Police arrested Dejanee Chatman, 27, for allegedly dragging a man through a parking lot with her car.
On June 16, around 2 a.m., officers were called to the 4500 block of Governors Drive for reports of domestic violence. The victim told authorities that Chatman attempted to fight a woman he was with and stole his backpack.
The car’s window was partially down, so the victim attempted to take his bag back, according to court records.
Chatman proceeded to hit the man’s car and drag him along the ground after his arm became caught inside the vehicle, court documents show.
Police reported that the man had several road rash marks on his arm.
Chatman was later taken into custody in the 600 block of Score Street.
She is charged with battery that caused physical contact, domestic battery that caused bodily harm, theft, criminal damage to property and aggravated battery caused by the use of a deadly weapon.
