R. Kelly claims prison officials trying to kill him: report

NORTH CAROLINA — Chicago native and former R&B superstar R. Kelly is claiming he recently lost consciousness after a failed plot to kill him in prison.

According to TMZ, the singer alleges the prison staff at his federal center in North Carolina purposefully gave him too much medication, causing an overdose.

R. Kelly’s attorneys said the singer was placed in solitary confinement last Tuesday after they filed an emergency motion claiming that three Bureau of Prisons officials plotted to have another inmate kill him.

His attorneys claim the prison over-medicated the singer and refused to allow him to have surgery to clear blood clots in his legs and lungs.

They are now seeking a temporary released to home confinement.

R. Kelly is serving a three-decade prison sentence for racketeering and sex trafficking.
