(WPHL) — A man is in critical condition in the hospital after a fight turned violent, and he was shot in North Philadelphia.
Philadelphia police tell PHL17 the shooting occurred at 11:30 p.m. at the intersection of North 21st and West Berk Streets.
Officers found a 36-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds to his abdomen. He was transported to Temple University Hospital, where he is undergoing surgery.
Chief Inspector Scott Small said, “We could clearly see the shooter and the victim involved in a physical struggle, or they were on the sidewalk wrestling, and that’s when you see a muzzle flash, so we believe that’s when the victim was shot.
Police are currently reviewing surveillance footage. The shooter was last seen running on North Lambert Street.
