
The City of Lakeland is inviting residents to take part in its annual Summer Community Cleanup Day, scheduled for Saturday, June 28, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The event will be held at the Public Works facility behind City Hall at 10001 Hwy 70.
This seasonal initiative offers Lakeland residents a chance to safely dispose of hard-to-trash household items, including yard debris, electronics, and bulk furniture. Proof of residency is required at drop-off.
Items Accepted Include:
- Yard waste, tree limbs, fencing
- Mattresses, box springs, bed frames
- Furniture and most household appliances**
- Computers, accessories, and cables
- Phones, televisions, gaming systems, and other electronics
Please note: Appliances must be professionally decommissioned, and paperwork must be provided at the time of disposal.
Items Not Accepted:
- Oils, paints, anti-freeze
- Pesticides, herbicides, and chemicals
- Railroad ties
- Fluorescent bulbs or light bulbs
- Non-decommissioned appliances

This effort is part of Lakeland’s ongoing commitment to community beautification and responsible waste disposal.
