PrimusLabs.xyz: A cryptographic layer for privacy-preserving blockchain and AI applications

PrimusLabs.xyz is the online home of Primus, a project developing cryptographic infrastructure to improve privacy, data verification, and encrypted computation across decentralized systems. The project aims to serve as a secure middleware layer that connects blockchain platforms and AI applications with trusted off-chain data. In February 2025, Primus raised $6.5M in pre-seed and seed funding. The investment rounds were led by Dispersion Capital, Symbolic Capital, and VanEck, with participation from Samsung Next, Alchemy, Maelstrom, and others.1

Advancing verifiable AI and encrypted computation across blockchains

The project is designed to address the growing demand for verifiable AI systems and data privacy in decentralized ecosystems. According to its documentation, core technologies include zkTLS (which fosters encrypted data verification without revealing the data itself) and zkFHE (a protocol that allows computations on encrypted data). These tools are designed to support use cases such as confidential auctions, private messaging, and secure AI agents. The team offers open APIs and describes the platform as chain-agnostic, meaning it can operate across different blockchains. Primus also highlights performance improvements, noting zkTLS is over 10 times faster than comparable tools and zkFHE offers up to 340 times faster proving times, helping make encrypted computation more viable in real-world scenarios.

Leadership rooted in cryptographic research and privacy-focused development

Primus is led by co-founder and CEO Dr. Xiang Xie, a cryptography engineer with experience at blockchain technology company O(1) Labs and a background in algorithm science and security architecture roles. According to his LinkedIn profile, Xiang has worked in cryptographic research and development for over a decade, contributing to the design of security algorithms and privacy-focused technologies.
