ELIZABETHTOWN, Ky. (FOX 56) — The City of Elizabethtown is asking the public to stay home as the city deals with flash flooding.
In a Facebook post, city leaders said “unprecedented rainfall” from Monday has flooded many roads, creeks, and subdivisions across the city.
They are asking residents to stay home.
“If possible, please stay home and off the roads until the rain ends, the water recedes, and our team has the opportunity to overcome this weather event,” they said.
WDRB has reported that the Elizabethtown Fire Department completed about eight water rescues, including a car that hydroplaned on Western Kentucky Parkway.
