LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) – Showers and storms will start to subside through the evening leading to a quiet night across Acadiana. Temperatures will hold in the 70s overnight with passing clouds.
Monday will start out with quiet conditions before storms start developing after the lunch hour. Some storms will be slow-moving and could cause more flood concerns in areas that have seen plentiful rain the past few days. Highs will reach near 90 degrees in the afternoon unless storms find you earlier in the day.
The tropics remain quiet and look to continue to be quiet through the next 7 days.
Locally, we will see a gradual decrease in rain chances this week. Through midweek, scattered storms will still form up during the afternoon hours providing heat relief for the area. Temperatures will climb into the lower 90s. By next weekend, high pressure builds in, lowering rain chances. Temperatures could reach the mid 90s during the afternoon hours with fewer storms around.
