MADISONVILLE, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Hardin man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after allegedly assaulting a man in the parking lot of a Mexican restaurant in Madisonville.
The Madisonville Police Department (MPD) wrote in a news release that just after 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, officers went to El Bracero Mexican Restaurant on Chelsa Drive in response to a complaint of a man being assaulted in the parking lot.
When officers arrived, the victim, identified as Roger McCarty, was reportedly found unresponsive on the ground, bleeding from the head.
The department wrote that Madisonville fire crews gave first aid and CPR to McCarty, who was taken to a hospital for treatment of “severe head injuries.” He was in critical condition.
Officers arrested Darin Dublin, 61, of Hardin, who was charged with first-degree assault and lodged in the Hopkins County Jail.
The assault investigation remains ongoing.
