ATTALA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Former Co-Lin softball player and National Champion Josie Meggs, of Kosciusko, died during a crash in Mississippi.
The crash occurred on Highway 12 in Attala County around 3:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Officials with the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP) said a 2019 Jeep Wrangler, driven by the 22-year-old, was traveling west on the highway went it went off the road, collided with a ditch and overturned.
Meggs received fatal injuries from the crash and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash remains under investigation by MHP.
