The Oakland Area Improvement Association (OAIA) will hold a Father’s Day Breakfast on Sunday from 8 to 11. The breakfast will be at the community center located at 6093 Oakland Rd.
Wanda Dissmeyer, who serves on the association, says events like these are part of a new initiative to strengthen the community of Oakland.

The Father’s Day Breakfast will be $12 per person, and $5 for children 5 and under. Breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, coffee and juice, and will be all you can eat.
The OAIA has also partnered with the Promised Land Community Center (PLACO) to host Taco Tuesday on June 17 from 5 to 7 located at 6178 Promise Land Road adjacent to the fire station.
The cost will be $12 per person and will include a taco bar and an alcohol free margarita bar. The profits will go towards PLACO’s Dream Big Fundraiser.
