The U.S. Forest Service said that the fire is 6.5 miles southeast of Hatch, UT in the Powell Ranger District of Dixie National Forest. The most impacted areas are Blubber Creek, Badger Creek, Proctor, and Skunk Creek.
According to Utah Fire Info, the fire started Wednesday June 12 near the Garfield/Kane County line. At around 8 p.m. on Wednesday, the fire covered roughly 10 acres of land.

It is in the U.S. Forest Service jurisdiction, and according to Utah Fire Info, the cause of the wildfire was natural.
The Forest Service described it as a “current threat to firefighter safety, life safety, natural and environmental resources,” but they also said that it is not currently an imminent risk to private property or structures. Reportedly, with current wind conditions, the fire is burning away from any private property.
