Prestonsburg campground still housing flood victims, closed until 2026

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. (WOWK) — Jenny Wiley State Resort Park announced on Friday that its campground will remain closed for the summer.

The state park announced on its Facebook page Friday afternoon that the campground is still housing flood victims from the tragic February flooding that devastated parts of eastern Kentucky.

“Jenny Wiley Campground is currently closed to the public, but we anticipate reopening NEXT YEAR, on July 1, 2026,” the Facebook post said. “Presently, the facility is serving as temporary accommodations for individuals affected by the floods, and we appreciate your understanding in the matter.”

Jenny Wiley State Park Resort is located in Prestonsburg.
