ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Winnebago County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Mitchell Soun, 34, for delivering cocaine, according to court records.

On June 11, around 7 p.m., officers pulled over a silver Acura SUV at the intersection of East State and 3rd Streets that they suspect was involved in a shooting in Cherry Valley on May 14.

Authorities asked to search the car, but Soun told them no, court records show.

Officials then had a K9 sniff the vehicle. The dog alerted deputies that drugs were in the rear passenger side of the vehicle.

Police searched the Acura and found cocaine and cannabis.

Soun later admitted to officers in an interview that he sells cocaine.

He is charged with manufacturing, delivering and possessing cocaine.
