Mahanoy City council approves hiring of full-time police officer

MAHANOY CITY – Borough Council here approved the hiring of a full-time police officer as one departs and another will soon.

Hugh Clinton was hired at Tuesday’s council meeting.

Council said he is replacing Rachael Lenar, who is leaving. Another is resigning at the end of this month, council said.

The borough also approved advertising amendments to the borough’s parking ordinance. The specifics of the amendments have not yet been determined.
