Eight arrested on felony drug charges in Brookhaven

BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (WJTV) – Eight men were arrested on felony charges during a drug bust in Brookhaven.

On June 8, agents with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics (MBN) conducted an enforcement action as part of an investigation targeting the distribution of controlled substances. They executed six search warrants during the operation.

During the operation, agents said they seized:

  • 6,410 grams of powder cocaine
  • 2,292 grams of marijuana
  • 36 grams of crack cocaine
  • 4 dosage units of methamphetamine
  • 0.5 dosage units of Hydrocodone
  • 60 dosage units of Alprazolam
  • 6 grams of THC gummies.
  • $27,569.00 in U.S. Currency
  • 2 vehicles
  • 1stolen handgun

According to officials, MBN conducted this investigation with assistance from Homeland Security Investigations, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, Brookhaven Police Department, and the 14th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.

“Great work by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and all the agencies involved in this operation. Because of their collaboration and dedication, dangerous drugs and criminals have been removed from our communities keeping our families and youth safer,” said Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS) Commissioner Sean Tindell. 

The following suspects were charges:

  • Dominic Smith, of Brookhaven, 47 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine
  • Albert Dedranno Stewart, of Brookaven, 49 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine and possession with the intent to distribute marijuana
  • Craig Jabari Dubar, of Brookhaven, 34 – Charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of a firearm (stolen) by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and misdemeanor possession of narcotics (Hydrocodone)
  • Ivan Alexis Pena, of Brownsville, Texas, 27 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine
  • Gilberto Martinez, of Brownsville, Texas, 38 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine
  • Sergio Ruben Hernandez, of Port Arthur, Texas, 37 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine
  • Mauricio Limas, Jr., of Dallas, Texas, 20 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine
  • Andres Antoni Rangel, of Brownsville, Texas, 25 – Charged with aggravated trafficking of cocaine
