Calico Rock is having some special events coming this weekend which will all culminate in the Grand Opening of the Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center Saturday afternoon.
The events kick off Friday as Rodeo Weekend begins. The Lions Club Rodeo starts Friday night at 8 and runs again Saturday night at 7. The Rodeo Parade will begin Saturday morning at 11 from Park Street and make its way to Main Street.
After the parade, the main event, the grand opening of the Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center will begin at 1. The grand opening will begin with the dedication of the E.C. Rodman Atrium presented by First National Bank of Izard County, the Barbara Rota Gallery, the Glenda Kankey Small Gallery, the Matthews Family Pioneers Gallery, the Ben Sanders Discovery Center and the Sue McCluskey Birth of the Ozarks Gallery.

The Calico Rock Museum and Visitor Center is located at 105 Main Street in Calico Rock and occupies four historic buildings which encompass nearly 20,000 square feet of space.
