Best chance for rain Thursday looking like late evening; continues on and off thru Sunday

Graphic from NWS shows total expected rain accumulation through Sunday

A multi-day rain event is setting up over the Twin Lakes and looks to continue through Sunday according the latest data from the National Weather Service (NWS) in North Little Rock.

Starting Thursday morning, showers will develop across the area and continue on and off through the day. The heaviest impact appears to be later in the evening around the midnight time frame. A 90 percent chance of rain on Friday will bring continued showers. Severe weather threats remain low but strong winds and hail cannot be ruled out. Friday evening modeling does show clearing and a drop off in rain chances around 7 until past midnight but those models could change over the next 24 hours.

Rain will continue on and off through Sunday. Area wide 1 to 2 inches of rain can be expected while greater impacts are expected south into Central Arkansas.
