Ross Dress for Less to open second store in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Ross Dress for Less is set to open a second location in San Francisco next month, the Bay Area-based discount retailer announced Thursday. Shoppers who enjoy the first location on Market Street won’t have to go far to enjoy the new spot, as the second location is opening just one block away.

The new Ross Dress for Less store at 901 Market Street will have its grand opening on July 19, according to the announcement, accompanied by a ribbon-cutting ceremony and live music. The company said the location is among a broader wave of new stores it is opening nationwide.

The retailer expects the new store to create approximately 90 full- and part-time jobs.

Ross Dress for Less opened its 799 Market Street location in 1986 and is one of the most visited across the company’s 1,800 stores, according to CEO Jim Conroy.

“While other retailers have shuttered stores, we saw a great opportunity to deliver even more value to the city and the entire Bay Area,” Conroy said.

Store hours for the 901 Market Street location will be 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. daily.
