BART service resumes after ‘major medical emergency’ at Hayward station

(BCN) — A “major medical emergency” at the Hayward BART station stopped train service through the area for more than two hours on Thursday morning, according to the transit agency.

BART officials shortly before 7:30 a.m. issued an advisory about the emergency that shut down service between the South Hayward and Bay Fair stations.

Trains were turning around once they reached the affected stations, and Alameda-Contra Costa Transit buses helped to take passengers through the area, BART spokesperson Michelle Robertson said.

Robertson did not provide any details about what prompted the service disruption but said service resumed shortly after 9:30 a.m. with residual delays.
