The turn of events started at 10:39 a.m. when a deputy patrolling the area of E Street in Santa Rosa noticed the recently reported stolen vehicle then began following it. Additional units were called in to assist stopping the car, said SCCO.
“The juvenile driver accelerated, leading deputies on a pursuit through the Bennett Valley area at speeds of up to 70 mph,” said Sergeant Juan Valencia of SCCO. “The chase ended when the driver crashed into a parked car near the intersection of Bethards Drive and St. Paul Drive and attempted to flee on foot. With assistance from the Santa Rosa Police Department, a perimeter was established, and the suspect was quickly apprehended.”
The sheriff’s office shared the photo below of the wreck on social media.
The teen was treated by medics at the scene for undisclosed injuries then booked into juvenile hall, said officials. They face several charges, including felony possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, and misdemeanor offenses for possession of burglary tools and hit-and-run.
