Suspect arrested as he fled stabbing in Atwater

ATWATER, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A suspect who fled the scene of a stabbing at a gym in Atwater on Tuesday was arrested, police said.

At approximately 12:30 p.m., officers with the Atwater Police Department received multiple emergency calls for a report of a stabbing at In-Shape at 2501 Shafter Road.

Police said that, due to the callers providing valuable information in a timely manner, the suspect was located while he was fleeing from the scene. He was arrested without incident.

According to police, the suspect was identified as 25-year-old Jaime Arias from Atwater.

The incident was isolated to a single victim and is currently in stable condition.
