Twenty-six-year-old Ariana Camp entered a guilty plea to theft of property charges. She was sentenced to three years-probation and ordered to pay almost $1,000 in restitution.
According to the probable cause affidavit, Camp had been stopped by asset protection staff at Walmart on December 2 last year. She was reported to have been allowed to return to the store under escort and pay for merchandise she had taken.
She was stopped again January 2 after she had past all points of sale without paying for items in her possession.
A review of transaction records was made uncovering numerous thefts of the same type. Video footage was provided to police by the store.
Her sentence was made under the provisions of Act 346, the first offenders law. If she stays out of trouble for the period of her probation, she can apply to the court to have her record sealed.
