One lane of 146th Street will remain open over the new bridge, officials with the department said. A new roundabout will be will be operational on Allisonville Road.
“This traffic shift is a key step in getting drivers used to the new layout,” Highway Director Brad Davis said. “The roundabout will help restore full turning movements at the intersection, and the bridge will allow 146th Street traffic to move more freely.”
The end goal is to separate traffic on 146th Street from local traffic on Allisonsville Road. This is part of a $44 million project designed to increase safety and reduce congestion.
