The first aid kit contain items that can be used on a dog in emergencies. The bags cost around $325, and Caddo Parish University Veterinary Hospital is a partner that will replace items in the bag if they are used or expired, free of charge to the agencies.
Veterans were at the event to teach trainees about the contents of the first aid kits and how to use the items. They also taught wound care, using a k9 medical manikin.
The non-profit has served over twenty agencies in Louisiana and other states, and they survive on donations. If you can help or if your law enforcement agency needs training and first aid kits, contact them at www.anna4paws.org.
