Controversy between Councilman and the OPSO over alleged jail keys

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans city councilman and the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office are clashing over an alleged set of jail keys Tuesday, June 10.

City Councilman JP Morrell posted a video to Instagram where he claimed he was in possession of a set of keys to the Orleans Parish Jail. He said he was given these keys by a whistleblower who works at the facility.

However, officials with the OPSO said that they are in possession of all the keys to the jail.
