Controversy between Councilman and the OPSO over alleged jail keys
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans city councilman and the Orleans Parish Sheriff’s Office are clashing over an alleged set of jail keys Tuesday, June 10.
City Councilman JP Morrell posted a video to Instagram where he claimed he was in possession of a set of keys to the Orleans Parish Jail. He said he was given these keys by a whistleblower who works at the facility.
However, officials with the OPSO said that they are in possession of all the keys to the jail.

The State Attorney General’s Office said they would look into the matter. They said if the keys exist, they will take possession of them.
