The lane closure will be nightly from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. During that period, one lane will remain open. After that nine-hour timeframe, all lanes will reopen for motorists. Caltrans announced the following closures.
- Monday-Friday (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
- Eastbound (lower deck): Lanes #2 and #3 closed
- Wednesday only (8 p.m. to 5 a.m.)
- Westbound (upper deck): Lane #2 closed
The lane closures start at the toll plaza to the west end of the bridge on the Marin County side.
“Motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes or allow extra travel time,” Caltrans said.
This closure comes about a week after the bridge underwent an emergency repair of a pothole. On June 2, lanes in both directions were shut down for hours during a weekday evening commute.
Monday night’s closure is unrelated to last week’s emergency repair, according to a Caltrans spokesperson. This latest repair has been planned and is a routine scheduled maintenance.
