IMPD: Man arrested after reported robberies of east side bank

INDIANAPOLIS — Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested a man on Monday who was reportedly tied to multiple robberies at the same bank on the east side of Indianapolis.

According to a post on social media from IMPD, officers were called to a bank in the 4300 block of E 10th Street at around 10:08 a.m. on Monday on a report of a robbery.

When officers were in transit, dispatch said that the same man, later identified as Dewayne Moss, reportedly robbed the same bank on two previous occasions.

When officers arrived on scene, a second alarm reportedly went off at a nearby business. The post read that Moss was reportedly seen by Moss exit the building and “immediately begin to flee on foot.” Moss was taken into custody after a brief chase.

With the assistance of community members and surveillance, Moss was reportedly identified as the suspect in multiple previous robberies at the bank, including incidents on May 5 and June 6.

The post stated that Moss was arrested on preliminary charges of robbery and attempted robbery. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make a final charging decision.

Officials with IMPD said that the booking photo for Moss is unavailable at this time. This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
