Officers say they attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Cartez Thomas when Thomas refused to comply and took off, leading officers on a chase through the city.
The vehicle eventually came to a stop, and both Thomas and the passenger, Roshun Richmond, hopped out and ran. They were quickly caught and taken in by officers.
Upon their arrest, both Thomas and Richmond were found to have guns and drugs.
Further investigation revealed that both men are also convicted felons.
Thomas had a prior conviction stemming from a 2024 burglary case. Richmond has multiple 2024 convictions, including burglary, narcotics, and theft of a motor vehicle.
Investigators also determined that the vehicle Thomas was driving had been reported stolen.
