Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints releases new details on temples announced in Mexico and Argentina
SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has released new information about the temples in Chihuahua, Mexico and Buenos Aires, Argentina. They released the location of the Chihuahua temple and a new rendering for the Buenos Aires Temple.
The Chihuahua Temple was announced by Church President Russell M. Nelson during the April 2024 general conference, and the location of the temple was revealed on Monday, June 9.
It will be built on a 5.87-acre site at the corner of Avenida de la Cantera and Avenida Real Escondido in Chihuahua, Mexico. Reportedly, it will be a single-story temple, approximately 19,000 square feet.

This will be the third temple in the Mexican state of Chihuahua, and the 27th temple in the country. 14 of those temples have been dedicated, and the rest have either been announced or are under construction.
According to the Church, there are more than 1.5 million Latter-day Saints in nearly 1,900 congregations in Mexico.

Buenos Aires Argentina Temple
The location for the Buenos Aires Temple was announced in December 2024 after the temple itself was announced by President Nelson in the October 2022 general conference. The rendering was released Monday.

The temple will be built in Buenos Aires City Center, on a 1.56-acre site located at Avenida Cordoba Esquina Reconquista. It will be the second temple in Buenos Aires, and the seventh temple in Argentina.
According to the Church, there are more than 491,000 Latter-day Saints in more than 730 congregations in Argentina.
