Watch for interstate lane restrictions, ramp closures this week

INDIANAPOLIS – Drivers should expect some overnight lane restrictions and ramp closures around Indianapolis this week.

The changes affect parts of I-65, I-465 and I-74. According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, this includes overhead signage work and the placing of permanent pavement markings.

Here’s what to watch for:

Monday, June 9 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Right shoulder of I-465 NB closed near Shadeland Ave. collector/distributor ramps (MM 39.5)

Tuesday, June 10 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Right lane of I-465 NB closed near Shadeland Ave. collector/distributor ramps (MM 39.5)

Wednesday, June 11 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Two right lanes of I-65 NB closed near Southport Rd. (MM 103)

Thursday, June 12 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Right lane of I-74 EB closed near Post Rd. (MM 96)
• Ramp from I-74 EB to I-465 NB closed

Friday, June 13 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Right lane of I-74 EB closed near Post Rd. (MM 96)
  • Temporary stoppages (up to 20 minutes at a time) between midnight and 3 a.m.
• Ramp from I-74 EB to I-465 NB closed

Additionally, drivers on the north side will encounter some overnight lane closures on I-465 as crews work to place permanent pavement markings on the interstate.

Here are the closures for that work:

Monday, June 9 and Tuesday, June 10 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Double left-lane closure on I-465 EB from U.S. 31 (MM 31.1) to River Road (MM 34.2)

Wednesday, June 11, Thursday, June 12, and Saturday, June 14 (9 p.m. to 6 a.m.)

• Triple left-lane closure on I-465 WB from River Road (MM 34.2) to U.S. 31 (MM 31.1)

INDOT said the work depends on the weather and the schedule is subject to change. The agency said drivers should slow down and use extra caution in work zones.
