The Vanderburgh County Coroner’s Office says it, as well as with the Evansville Police Department, are investigating a death resulting from a shooting on June 7.
After the shooting, Jayvinvontae Keion-Ray Carter, 3, was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Jovontae Carter, Jayvinvontae’s father, was arrested in regard to this incident. He is being held in Vanderburgh County Jail.

Officials say an autopsy was completed on June 9 at 9 a.m. The results are currently pending. The Evansville Police Department is continuing the investigation.
