Oracle Park evacuated after fire breaks out before Giants-Braves game
(KRON) — A fire broke out before the Giants’ game on Sunday inside Oracle Park, the San Francisco Fire Department announced. One of the concession stands’ cooking area was engulfed in flames at around 10:30 a.m.

The fire did not spread outside of the cooking area of the vendor booth, according to SFFD. Oracle Park was temporarily evacuated, and the fire was extinguished within the hour.

No injuries were reported. Some stadium employees self-evacuated.

The fire happened about three hours before the first pitch, so no fans were inside the stadium at the time of the fire. The Giants-Braves game was not impacted and began at its scheduled 1:05 p.m. time.

A video posted on social media shows the concession stand before engulfed in flames.

SFFD first posted about the fire at 10:50 a.m.

“We thank the fantastic staff and fans for their cooperation during the evacuation at the direction of park staff and fire personnel,” the fire department wrote on social media.

The Giants won Sunday’s game 4-3 and are on a five-game winning streak. San Francisco is currently one game back of the NL West-leading Los Angeles Dodgers.
