On Saturday, June 7, a woman met with officers at the Hopkinsville Police Department and recounted jumping from Deonte Walker-Coleman’s car earlier that morning. According to court documents, she alleged she was being held at gunpoint.
The victim told officers that she and Walker-Coleman had argued over the “information” she allegedly found on his phone. An arrest citation states that he reportedly punched her in the back of the head and strangled her until she lost consciousness.
When she woke up, the victim told police that Walker-Coleman held a gun to her head and ordered her to perform sexually explicit acts.
According to court documents, she tried to take him back to his car to escape, but she got a flat tire. Once they were in Walker-Coleman’s car, he reportedly wouldn’t let her go until he knew where she was going.
The victim told police she eventually jumped from the moving vehicle.
Walker-Coleman was arrested later that day and charged with first-degree sexual abuse, first-degree strangulation, theft by unlawful taking or disposition of property, and kidnapping.
Jail records show he was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.
