Ariana Dedeaux, 20, was charged with child desertion.
BRPD responded to an apartment in the 2200 block of College Drive and were told by someone that two children kept exiting the apartment. The children were a 1-year-old and a two-year-old, BRPD said.
They were “found three weeks ago, unattended on the balcony near the home and playing on the outside stairwells,” according to the affidavit.
Police were also told that the children were seen in the parking lot without any supervision on Monday, June 2.
Residents located the children and took them to the office until Dedeaux was contacted, BRPD said.
On Tuesday, June 3, the two-year-old was found again in the parking lot with no one around to watch him. He was taken to the office again by a resident.
BRPD went to the children’s apartment and found the door open. Dedeaux and someone else were seen asleep at that time, according to the affidavit.
She was subsequently arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.
