Aiken Co. Coroner’s Office, SCHP investigating death of Windsor man involved in single-vehicle accident

WINDSOR, S.C. (WJBF) – The Aiken County Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a Windsor man following a single-vehicle accident.

According to authorities, the accident happened on June 2nd at 10:12 A.M. on the 1400 block of Old Barnwell Road near Stillwater Road.

According to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office, Wade Sweat, III, 42, was the driver of a 1994 Chevrolet truck traveling north on Old Barnwell Road when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, over corrected, traveled off the right side of the roadway, overturned, adn then, struck a fence.

Authorities say Sweat was transported to Wellstar MCG Health where he died from his injuries at 5:45 P.M.

The Coroner’s Office states that they, along with South Carolina Highway Patrol, are continuing with the investigation.
