The Richardson Police Department responded to the scene around 4:51 a.m. on June 7 in the 2400 block of northbound North Central Expressway (US-75). The motorcycle driver, identified as Cody Morris, 27, of Plano, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police said no other vehicles or individuals were found at the crash site.
Around 5:30 a.m., the Plano Police Department received a call from Kelvin Joseph Jr., 25, a resident of Allen and a former LSU football player, who stated he had been involved in the crash.
Richardson officers contacted Joseph and determined he had been driving a BMW sedan northbound on US-75 when the collision occurred. According to the police, officers noted signs of intoxication while speaking with Joseph, and he was arrested.
Joseph faces charges of driving while intoxicated and collision involving personal injury or death.
Before playing at LSU, Joseph attended Scotlandville Magnet High School.
