ALPINE, Utah (ABC4) — A 40-year-old man is currently being transported to a medical facility after suffering a serious accident while repelling.
According to Utah County Sheriff’s Office, the man was repelling in the Three Falls area, near Alpine, when he fell and was impaled by a stick into his upper thigh.
Utah County Search and Rescue and Lone Peak Fire District responded to the accident and were able to subsidize the bleeding by applying pressure to the wound.
Life Flight arrived on the scene to hoist the man out of the area. He is currently being airlifted to an ambulance, which will transport him to a medical facility.
