This is an immersive, traveling exhibit originally developed by the Canadian Museum of Nature, and it focuses on the history of the ice age.
“Ice has sculpted our planet for millennia, shaping the landscapes we see today and connecting distant continents, paving the way for migration,” the website description reads.
The exhibit explores 80,000 years of Earth’s ice age history and over 120 specimens, artifacts, models, and multimedia elements, according to the museum’s website.
“What we’re hoping that visitors take away is how powerful cold is and how important cold is to our planet. I know in Utah we love to have the best snow on earth, and without the important cold periods of our year, we wouldn’t have that, and we wouldn’t have our identity as Utahn skiers in the Wasatch Front,” Margaret Chamberlain with the Natural History Museum of Utah told ABC4.com.
Access to the exhibit is included in museum admission, which is free for museum members. For non-members, admission runs from $17.95 for children 3-12 years old to $22.95 for adults. For full pricing and to reserve tickets online, visit the museum’s website.
The exhibition will be open until January of 2026.
