HOPE, Ala. —
Good Hope senior Cammi Graves feels so blessed to have God in her life, and He has helped her overcome adversity along the way. In this interview, she shared a couple of her favorite Bible verses and talked about why it’s important to help people of all ages find God.

“God means a lot to me. He has saved me from many hardships and is the reason I am who I am today. He has brought me a lot of peace and comfort,” Graves said. “My favorite Bible verses are Matthew 6:34, because it’s a good reminder to not have anxiety about things, and Matthew 6:25, because it reminds me not to worry about worldly things. It is very important, because God heals the brokenhearted, and many people need it more than ever. Being a Godly role model for a lot of kids is very important, because sometimes, the only way people learn about God is from us, His disciples.”

Cammi was part of a special mission at her church that not only changed other peoples’ lives, but Her’s as well.

“My favorite mission was working at KidsFest at Daystar. It was fun working with the children and being able to be a part of the ministry. It brought them closer to God and each other, while also helping me learn how to be a better role model to those around me,” she said. “When 2020 happened, I was isolated, and I got very sad, but that brought me even closer to God than ever, and I have continued to grow with Him.”

She shared some advice with those people who want a relationship with God but might be struggling when it comes to doing that. She talked about her role models, and what she has learned during her journey so far.

“It’s not about how good of a person you are, it’s about your willingness to grow a relationship with God,” she said. “My role models are my dad and my grammy. They mean a lot to me, because they have encouraged my walk with Christ more than anyone. What I’ve learned during my journey so far is that God is in control, and all I have to do is listen, trust, and guide others to Him.”
