6 Willamette athletes selected to all-region track & field team

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — This week, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) selected the top five individuals in each event to receive all-region honors for the 2025 NCAA Division III outdoor track & field season.

Willamette’s Steeley Mucken (Javelin), Myles Crandall (400m Hurdles), Kaleb McArthur (Long Jump), and Niko White (Long Jump) have all earned all-region honors. On the women’s side, Tenley Grant (Shot Put, Hammer) and Erica Snyder (High Jump).

Coming off a fifth-place finish at the NCAA Championships, Mucken is not only a 2025 first-team All-American, he’s also the Willamette record holder in the javelin with a throw of 65.50m (214–10.75 feet). The sophomore also holds the third fastest time in the 100m in program history with a time of 10.83 seconds.

In addition to his honor, Crandall also made the NWC All-Conference team in the 1600m relay, 400m relay and the 400m hurdles this season. This is the sophomore’s first USTFCCA All-region selection.

McArthur has been dominating in the field events for Willamette, taking home all-conference awards in the long jump and triple jump. The junior also holds the fifth farthest jump in program history at just over 23 feet in 2024.

The freshman White has already been stellar for the Bearcats in his first season, jumping over 22 feet in the long jump and claiming the eighth-best performance in program history.

Grant is the record holder in the hammer for Willamette and third all-time in the shot put with a throw of 12.87m (42–2.75 feet). This is the senior’s second time on the all-region team.

As a junior, Snyder has earned three top-ten performances for the Bearcats: triple jump (#8), high jump (#4) and the heptathlon (#9). She makes her second USTFCCCA All-Region team after finishing her season at the NCAA Championships in a tie for 17th.
