Officers said the first shooting unfolded just after 10 p.m. in the 3300 block of West Walnut Street, in East Garfield Park.
Officers responded to the scene following a report of a person shot in the area and when they arrived, they found the victim, a 47-year-old man, who had suffered gunshot wounds to his arm and abdomen.
While officers were on the scene, they received a call about another shooting that unfolded just blocks away in the 3300 block of West Lake Street.
Officers responded to the scene and found a 43-year-old man who had suffered gunshot wounds to his torso and abdomen.
Both victims were taken to the hospital where they were listed in critical condition and officers said neither provided details on what led up to the incidents.
No arrests have been made in connection with the shooting and an investigation is now underway.
