Vincent Anderson named Baxter County Historian

Local historian and co-host of KTLO’s Retracing Our Roots, Vincent Anderson was named Baxter County’s official historian through proclamation at Tuesday evening’s Quorum Court meeting. A common fixture at community events area wide, Anderson can be seen giving tours and presentations on popular historical sites around the area as well as meeting and collecting the stories of families in the area.
The proclamation from Baxter County Judge Kevin Litty states,” we acknowledge and celebrate Vincent Anderson’s contributions in his work with the local Historical Society, his research and providing hundreds of details of regional history on the Ozarks History Blogspot. His work on establishing and maintaining the Library’s Local History and Genealogy room that houses a one-of-a-kind collection local and regional history and family genealogy records. Vincent regularly conducts historical presentations and tours on behalf of the Library, the Baxter County Historical Society, the Mountain Home Chamber of Commerce and other community organizations.”

The historian says he was surprised and honored to be recognized at the meeting.
