Shreveport Police search for two non-compliant sex offenders

DISCLAIMER: All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty

SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Shreveport Police Department is actively seeking two convicted sex offenders who have failed to comply with their annual registration requirements.

Steven Edward Woods Sr. has failed to complete his 2025 annual sex offender registration with the Shreveport Police Department. Woods was previously convicted of Intentional Exposure to AIDS and has three prior convictions for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

As a result of his continued non-compliance, a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Waynon Gerald Boatwin has failed to pay his required 2025 sex offender registration fee.

Boatwin was convicted of Sexual Battery and has four prior convictions for Failure to Register as a Sex Offender.

A warrant has also been signed for his arrest.

Mandated by the Louisiana Revised Statute 15:542, Registration of Sex Offenders and Child Predators anyone convicted of a sex offense or a crime against a child must register with local law enforcement. They must provide personal details like name, address, and offense info.

  • Registration is required soon after moving, being released, or being convicted.
  • How long someone stays on the registry depends on the crime—anywhere from 15 years to life.
  • Offenders must keep their info updated regularly.
  • Not registering can lead to criminal charges.

The Shreveport Police Department says it takes the registration and monitoring of sex offenders seriously to help ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these individuals is urged to contact SPD at (318) 673-7300
