Massive tree crushes pickup truck in San Mateo

(KRON) — Crews are responding to a large tree that fell on a pickup Wednesday afternoon in San Mateo, the San Mateo Police Department said. The tree fell in the area of S Railroad Avenue between 9th and 10th avenues.

Photos posted by SMPD (below) show a white pickup truck crushed by the tree. A white Volkswagen sedan was also damaged by the tree, including its windshield, which was cracked.

One person suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated, according to SMPD. No other information about the vicitm was released by police.

Police are asking the public to also avoid the area of S B Street and S Claremont Street near S Railroad Avenue.

There is no estimated time for when repairs will be complete.
