HAMILTON COUNTY, Ind. — A portion of I-69 near Fishers is closed because of a reported fatal vehicle fire.
According to the Indiana Department of Transportation, all lanes southbound and northbound on I-69 are closed at the 210 mile-marker because of a reported vehicle fire. This is located between IN 37 and OLD IN 238 in Fishers.
Officials with the Indiana State Police confirmed with FOX59/CBS4 that it is a fatal crash. An update from INDOT said the crash involved two semi trucks and one person has been pronounced dead.
The Fishers Fire Department said drivers should expect delays to last several hours. The department also asked drivers to avoid the area.
INDOT officials said there is no time frame for how long I-69 will be closed because of this crash.
