$200K in power tools, designer bags recovered in Oakland search warrant

(KRON) — The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said its property crime detectives recovered $200,000 worth of retail goods — believed to be stolen from several Bay Area stores — during a search warrant at an Oakland home on Wednesday.

The sheriff’s office said the located merchandise included power tools, clothing, medications, and designer handbags. More than $85,000 in cash was also found in the home, said investigators. (See below)

The Alameda County District Attorney’s Office will handle prosecuting the case.

“Fencing operations are criminals who buy and sell stolen property,” said the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office. “We believe the items and cash are related to multiple retail theft operations.”

No arrests have yet been made.
