Wednesday morning rush likely to be dreary, soggy; possible peaks of sun in afternoon

TUESDAY NIGHT: Clouds lower and thicken. Growing prospects for scattered showers and possible thunderstorms. Breezy and fairly humid. Winds: Southwest at 10-20 mph, with some 30-mph gusts. Low: 63.

Wednesday will open on a dreary, soggy note with numerous showers and possible thunderstorms continuing for a good portion of the morning commute. There could also be locally heavy downpours, which are definitely needed.

A soaking rain for parts of the area is likely. Two different computer models’ take on how much precipitation may fall:

Wednesday temperatures will be markedly cooler with no repeat of the near 90-degrees observed on Tuesday. The day’s high temperature will occur during the early morning hours while most of us are sleeping. Readings will fall quickly into the lower 60s by midday and stay there much of the afternoon with northerly winds blowing in out of Canada.
